Seasonal Colour Flow Chart. It includes a
Makeover using the recommended skin
care products and colours. The client receives a Colour ID which contains up
to 50 colour cards (a great way
to eliminate costly colour choice mistakes). |

Fashion Fit Formula
Rid yourself of closet guilt. Your personal lifetime guide of your perfect linear measurements

A
Time for Brides and Attendants to Get Personal

With only months or weeks
to that big day, let’s think about the personal side of preparations for the
bride and her attendants.
Colour and style are all
important in having everyone look their best. So, where to start? A
seasonal colour draping and analysis consultation should be a first
consideration. The bride is still most likely to want to wear white, but the
choice of another colour is not out of the question. Regardless of the
choice, it is crucial that the chosen colour be the most complimentary
shade and tone, as well as that the style of the dress be the most
flattering. An ivory dress on a bride who should be in snow white (or vice
versa) diminishes her appearance instead of enhancing it. Consultation, analysis, and a lot of thought
should go into the consideration of colours before any of the shopping

It makes good sense for the ladies in
today’s bridal party to plan to wear their dresses not only for
the wedding day but to
be able to wear them later, for other occasions as well. To be able to do so
with pride, the dresses must be compatible with each wearer’s body shape,
clothing personality and style, and personal colour palette. If all the
right steps are taken in making the choices, each lady should be saying as
she takes off her dress, “I love this dress so much I can’t wait for the
next opportunity to wear it!”
The difference in having the
“right” colours and styles is really significant. Instead of looking “washed
out” or “overtired,” this is an occasion on which you all want to sparkle;
to match the excitement of the day. You want people to see you
walking up the aisle in beautiful dresses, not beautiful dresses
walking up the aisle with you in them!

minutes of total relaxation. It includes a facial mask, arm and hand
exfoliation and massage, ending up with rejuvenating skin care. It’s a
wonderful way to add an extra memory to that special day.

So, you’ve decided on the date,
booked the reception hall, made arrangements for the marriage ceremony,
including the arrangements for music and vocals, decided on the invitations,
asked your chosen family member(s)/friend(s) to be your attendants and now
it’s time to get down to the details of the bridal plan!More...
What all goes into it?
Depending on the where, when, who, and under what circumstances, this may
vary significantly; but let’s review some of the basic and constant factors.
We’re going to be dealing with
human bodies and what we do to them as well as what goes on them and around
them — hairstyles, dresses (and headpiece/veil), shoes, accessories,
flowers, and makeup, as a basic list. And where to start? What comes first?
From where Teresa McCarthy of Image Solutions Group sits, the most desirable
starting point is for the bride especially, and the attendants if possible,
to start with a consultation consisting of an analysis of each person’s
seasonal colour palette, body dynamics and personal style, and skin care and
cosmetics requirements.
To put that a little
differently, it is important to first, determine what are your most
complimentary colours. This is done by “draping” the person in a wide
variety of large coloured “swatches” of material.
Next, the shape of the body
frame is very important, in terms of determining what style of dress is
going to be most flattering. Personal style is a matter that is a little
hard to define in theoretical terms, but all women have their own style, be
it classic, dramatic, natural, gamin or other; and it’s very helpful to have
a good understanding of what styles complement your personality.
With this
information in hand, you’re ready to shop for dresses, accessories, and
flowers, knowing what colours and styles you want to help you look great. Or
is that “help you get ready to” look great?
The other key part of the
consultation has to do with each person’s skin — its colour, texture,
dryness/moisture, and what type of skin care or conditioner may be
appropriate, as well what shades of makeup and lipstick will show off your
natural good looks to greatest advantage as well as match up best with the
colour of the dress.
All this can be “tried out” and
decided in the consultation so that on the “big day” there is no
uncertainty, experimentation or confusion. The plan is complete and
documented, so it just has to be applied in a calm, cool, fun atmosphere.
“Hair isn’t part of our
toolbox,” says Teresa, “but with the knowledge gained and the decisions made
already about styles and colours, it’s so much easier to talk to a good
hairdresser (and colourist, if needed) and confidently make an agreement
on what you want them to do.”
